FLY BRUNELLO TOUR: HELICOPTER WINE TOUR IN THE VAL D’ORCIA

The Fly Brunello Tour by Fly Tesla, in collaboration with Real Luxury, is much more than a scenic excursion it is a sensory journey suspended between sky and earth, revealing the authentic soul of the Val d’Orcia.

Today, we revisit the history, highlights, and future of this innovative tour with Patricia, Fly Tesla’s Head of Aviation. 

How and when did the idea for the Fly Brunello Tour originate?

"It all started in 2018. The idea came thanks to one of our Russian clients, a passionate supercar enthusiast. He loved driving Ferraris, but he was also a wine lover and asked us to find a way to discover the best wineries and gastronomic experiences in the Val d’Orcia while being free to enjoy wine without having to drive. So, we designed an experience that combined helicopter flights with visits to two wineries in a single day and he immediately loved the idea. The goal was to allow guests to fully enjoy the territory, the wineries, and the wines without worrying about driving or travel times." 

Was there a particular moment or place that inspired the creation of the tour?

"The inspiration came from seeing the Val d’Orcia from above. The beauty of its landscapes, historic villages, and Sangiovese vineyards; I wanted people to experience it all from a new perspective. The idea was to connect the magnificence of the territory with its most exclusive products, creating a unique, comfortable, and truly VIP experience." 

How does the Fly Brunello experience unfold?

"The tour begins with a panoramic helicopter flight over the stunning Val d’Orcia, offering breathtaking views and landing directly at the selected wineries. The first stop is Castiglion del Bosco, where guests can explore the cellar and taste a selection of Brunello di Montalcino. Next, the journey continues to Podere Le Ripi, a winery immersed in nature, for a guided visit and another tasting of premium wines. Lunch is served at the Michelin-starred Il Silene restaurant on Monte Amiata, with refined dishes highlighting local flavors. All transfers are, of course, by helicopter, turning every flight into an opportunity to admire the Tuscan landscape." 

What do you consider the most exciting aspect of this tour?

"The real added value, in my opinion, is freedom. You can visit two wineries in a single day without driving, flying over breathtaking panoramas and landing just steps away from the tastings. It’s a VIP way to experience Tuscany: no driving, no logistical worries, just the pleasure of wine and the beauty around you."

"I would love to expand the tour to include other local excellences, such as extra virgin olive oil or other products, creating an even more complete gastronomic journey.
